Mark Freitag

Mark was born in 1955 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and spent most of his growing up years there. His family moved to New Hampshire in 1972 and there he finished high school and later attended college, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1980, the occasion that coincided with the volcanic explosion of Mt. St. Helens in Washington state. Six days later, Mark married Martha Hobby of North Hampton, NH. Together, they raised four children, now grown and off on their own life adventures.

Mark spent 18 years in engineering developing machine tools and designing tires. In 1997 he became an elder at Fellowship Bible Church in Greenville, SC, and in 1998 joined the Home School Resource Center (now Milton Academy) as a mathematics and science tutor. He received his M. Div. degree from Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2007. Mark also enjoys cycling around Greenville, making sawdust in his workshop, and building Lego creations with his grandchildren.
